  3. I am actually experimenting this year. My parent's are headed out of town and I'm going to be in charge of the dinner for my kids. This should be very interesting. We shall see...

  5. i am doing all the cooking and my entire family gathers at my house and we eat and watch movies sometimes play games and just enjoy ourselves
  6. Cooking some food, then going over to my grandparent's house with the rest of my family.
  7. Ours sounds a lot like your day except the men hunt and the teenagers watch the game and the women clean up all the messes and gossip in the kitchen.
  8. I plan to educate people about how Thanksgiving is the celebration of (an ongoing) genocide. At least American Thanksgiving is. Everyone learns in school that the Natives and the Pilgrims had a nice friendly meal together. It leaves out the part where after dinner all of the natives got slaughtered. The biggest genocide in the history of the earth. Not to mention the millions of turkeys that will be slaughtered and even more gluttony than a usual gluttonous day in America. Canadian Thanksgiving is an adaption of Pagan harvest festival. Thus, it is in October during the harvest. It also the celebration of the British Loyalists coming to Canada to escape the American civil war. Why do you celebrate Thanksgiving? What do you think you are celebrating? What makes it special if all you do is eat and watch TV--people do that everyday?
  9. We used to get together and laugh and eat with all of us and our kids and spouses, until my brother developed a gambling and alcohol problem which has torn out family apart. Being around him is awkward and he is an embarrasment to us now. None of us want to have our children and spouses near him. It's the saddest Thanksgiving I've ever had because he used to be the star of our family and a caring and wonderful and fun person. But now he's constantly asking for money and has lost ALL of our parents' retirement. I'm so sorry it wasn't a very upbeat answer, but since I don't know any of you, it felt good to tell someone. I can't confide to anyone I actually know. It's too shameful and too sad.
  10. I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner for my family and my husband family. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  11. Food, family, TV, nap!
