When should you put your christmas tree up and take it down?
I think you can put up your christmas tree when you feel free to. Every one has traditions differently. You should not go by stupid sayings and things you here. My family has always put the tree up before thanksgiving and taken it down after the new year.

- The beginning of December to the week after new years, any longer and it's a bit too long. (This is the longest anyone should have their tree up in my opinion)
- dec 1 jan 6
- You should put it up one to two weeks before Christmas and take it down the day before Thanksgiving.
- I put up my christmas lights on Nov 4th and 5th because it was 60 degrees out. up from 32 the last few days. so i have to put them up when i can. it just shows that you are trying to spread the christmas spirit this year
- put it up and take it down whenever your lil ole heart desires...It's your tree...Doesnt matter what anybody else says or does, now does it?
- I'm like you, do it when ever you want to do it. We have always done it thanksgiving day or weekend through new years
- lol...my mother always used to put it up at the last minute (like maybe 4 or 5 days before Christmas) and she would usually procrastinate to take it down until sometime in January (lol one year we still had the Christmas tree up for valentines day). i have always heard that your supposed to put the tree up the day after thanksgiving and take it down the day before (or is it the day after??) new years.
- We put ours up Thanksgiving day. Take down Christmas day.
- Dec 1- Jan 3 You can get very sick of a tree very quick, believe me i have gone there ยค
- It should come down on January 6th, the 12th day of Christmas. I put mine up the weekend before, but that is just for convenience.
- I put my tree up last week. Our family has been so blessed this year and we are so excited for christmas. My two years are entranced with the lights, ans it puts us all in a wonderful mood. It's also my fiance's first christmas with our family. Who know when we'll take it down. I say put it up and take it down whenever you want!
- put up day after Thanksgiving - take down day after New Years
- I always put my up a week after Thanksgiving, and take it down a week after X-mas.
- We generally buy a live Christmas a couple weeks before Christmas and than we take it down Jan 2. I would leave it longer if it was me personally but my boyfriend hates to have a Christmas tree up after the holidays are over.
- i agree you should do it when you feel if i could i would keep mine up all year i love christmas. our tradition is to put it up the day after thanksgiving and take it down the day of new years eve! Do what ever you want its your family your tradition and after all you have to look at the tree! Good Luck and God Bless!!!
- You're right I'm putting mine up this weekend
- No problem when going up, but all Christmas decorations should be down by the 12th night after - otherwise it brings bad luck........
- My husband wanted to put it up a month ago, but I convinced him that we'd be sick of it by the time Christmas came around. I always put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving. My parents have two assisted living places, and they're both already decorated. Until a few years ago, one of the employees had an upside-down Christmas tree that she kept up all year long, and just decorated it for whatever holiday was coming up. That was a bit much, though.
- This year, our tree went up the end of Sept. That is because my son-in-law left for Iraq and my daughter decided it would go up the day he left and come down the day (April) he comes home. It is very patriotic and wonderful. As for Christmas past, I always put my tree up very early. Christmas comes and goes so fast that I feel the longer the season , the better. To each his own!!!!!
- I think you can put the tree up right after Thanksgiving dinner especially because everybody is together and gets everyone in the holiday spirit. Personally, I like to keep the tree for as long as possible; its a once-a-year decoration that I love to enjoy. I wait until the tree is drying out (I go for fresh not artificial) or someone makes me take it down..... I like to keep the spirit of the holidays going...!
- Put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving and take it down new years day.
- We've always put our tree up on December 2 because that is my daughter's birthday. We usually take it down New Year's weekend just because it's pretty much dead by then. You should come up with your own traditions for your tree and have fun with it.
